& try new Things

“As Bokonon says: ‘peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from god.”
-Kurt Vonnegut, Cat’s Cradle

If you’re tired of doing the same old things and having the same kinds of experiences each time you travel, maybe now is the perfect time to switch things up a bit and start traveling a little differently.

It’s not just about the things you want to do and the plans you put in place; it’s also about your mentality and the way in which you approach each new travel experience. Not sure what experiences you want to have? Check out these bucket list ideas.

Here’s are a few other ideas how to vary things and experience new things when you travel.

Learn to Leave Your Comfort Zone

First of all, you should learn to leave your comfort zone more often. Doing that will make it easier for you to experience new things and not get stuck in old habits that you repeat over and over again. Maybe you’ve never taken a particular type of vacation or never traveled to a certain part of the world. If these prospects scare you a little, that’s all part of leaving your comfort zone.

Dive Into the Local Culture and See Where it Takes You

If you want to make the most of each and every travel experience you have from now on, it’s important to consider the way in which you interact with the local culture in those locations.

If you’re willing to experience the local culture first-hand, you’ll immediately start to understand it better and appreciate everything it has to offer. This is the most important step in developing a connection with a place. These are the most authentic kinds of experiences you can have when traveling.

Get to Know the City Inside Out

If you’re traveling to a metropolitan area, there are so many ways to really understand the city. But it all comes down to the people. In order to understand a city and how it works, you have to get to know the local people and spend time with them. In my experience, locals are almost always willing to help out, give advice on where to eat, or help you figure out how to get places. Asking a local helps you to learn about the places not in a guidebook, but that make a place truly special.

That’s what you should certainly try to do when you travel. You’ll be amazed and how many great insights you get with the help of this one trick.

Take to the Seas

One great way to experience something completely different is to take to the seas. You could take an island hopping trip around a mediterranean location or you could hire a boat and have a big boat party with all your closest friends.

There are so many ways to have fun at sea when you’re traveling, and one of my personal favorites is a party boat in Fort Lauderdale or wherever really- you can’t go wrong partying on a boat.

Walk, Hike and Climb

I’m a huge fan of doing cool shit when I go places. And you can’t do cool shit without being active. Being active can help you explore the natural side of the locations you travel to far better as well. Walking, hiking, climbing or whatever form of activity is most relevant to the places you’re traveling to is not only a lot of fun but it allows for spontaneity and exploration too, and those are two things I always say yes to when traveling.

In conclusion…

Varying up your travel plans and doing things that you might not ordinarily do will lead to a much more satisfying and rewarding experience. It’s why people love traveling so much. Learning about the world and getting out of your comfort zone is what matters more than anything else.

Those are the kinds of experiences that you’ll never forget, remember for a long time to come, and love telling other people about. Who knows, maybe it’ll inspire you to start your own travel blog.

Stay Gold.
