How to Plan the
BEST RV TRIP

Going out on a road trip in an RV is such a unique vacation opportunity, but it takes a few key features to plan out the perfect RV adventure.

Thankfully this guide contains some of the most effective steps that you can follow to arrange a brilliant RV getaway, so what are you waiting for? Read on to discover more!

Plan The Perfect Route

One of the most important steps that you need to follow if you want to enjoy an amazing RV trip is to plan the perfect route. The route that you take during your adventure can either make or break your vacation, as you might end up encountering a whole host of problems that could have easily been avoided with a little forward thinking.

The first thing you’re going to need to decide is how long you want your trip to be. If you want to take a week long trip, then your ‘final’ destination that’s furthest away should be no more than 3 days away from your home – don’t forget to factor in your return journey! Far too many first time RVers end up setting their sights too high, presuming they have the time to travel much further than they really do. Be realistic with your timescales!

Second, you’re going to need to make sure you have the right spaces nearby to stop over and spend the night. It’s unlikely you’re going to want to just park your RV up at the side of a random road, as this isn’t the most secure option to say the very least. Instead, take the opportunity to find an RV resort or park that’s en-route, as this way you’ll be able to have access to all of the facilities that you need.

Fill Your RV With Essentials

Another key step that you need to take if you want to plan a brilliant RV trip is to fill your vehicle with all of the necessary essentials. You’re going to need a variety of items when you’re adventuring around in your RV, especially if you’re going out in the sticks where you won’t have access to a grocery store or mall.

Consider any food and drink supplies that you’re going to need for your trip, packing more than you think is necessary to cover yourselves just in case. You never know what situation you could find yourselves in, and running out of food very quickly could be very risky. Opt for preserved and dried foods that don’t need to be refrigerated and won’t go out of date very quickly.

You’ll also need some survival gear if you want to make the most of your RV trip. Pack a number of thick blankets to keep you warm when the temperature drops during the night. Bring some fire lighters and cooking equipment so that you can make a campfire and whip up some hot food outside. Pack a torch, some batteries, and don’t forget your mobile phone too.

Enjoy your RV trip!
