Trip Planning Made Easy

The internet has made traveling easier than ever before.  There are more travel resources at our fingertips, then we could ever use in one lifetime.  But how do you know which ones to use?  Which ones are the best?

Over the past 7 years I’ve planned a lot of trips which has taught me which travel resources are the most useful.  In the past I wasted a lot of time, which I’d love to help you avoid doing. This belief led to me to wanting to create Of Whiskey and Words’s travel resources page.

Below is a list of all the travel resources, websites, tools, companies, apps and more that I use and rely upon whenever I am planning a trip. It’s everything that has worked for me and that I would highly recommend to other travelers (otherwise, they wouldn’t be on the list).

Flights

SkyScanner A major flight tool that should be checked, especially for flights from or within Europe. Every now and then they have the best deal.
Hopper Hopper predicts prices and helps you book your flights and hotels at the right time, saving you up to 40%.

Homestay 55000 rooms to rent worldwide. Book homestay accommodation in a local person's home for an authentic holiday experience.
Couchsurfing People around the world offering travelers a place to crash. Always an interesting, and inexpensive, option. You can also use the site just to meet locals.
