The internet has made traveling easier than ever before.  There are more travel resources at our fingertips, then we could ever use in one lifetime.  But how do you know which ones to use?  Which ones are the best?

Over the past 7 years I’ve planned a lot of trips which has taught me which travel resources are the most useful.  In the past I wasted a lot of time, which I’d love to help you avoid doing. This belief led to me to wanting to create Of Whiskey and Words’s travel resources page.

Below is a list of all the travel resources, websites, tools, companies, apps and more that I use and rely upon whenever I am planning a trip. It’s everything that has worked for me and that I would highly recommend to other travelers (otherwise, they wouldn’t be on the list).

SkyScanner A major flight tool that should be checked, especially for flights from or within Europe. Every now and then they have the best deal.
Hopper Hopper predicts prices and helps you book your flights and hotels at the right time, saving you up to 40%.
Google Flights Find cheap flights in seconds, explore destinations on a map, and sign up for fare alerts on flights you want to watch.
Seat Guru Before you take a flight, check this website to find out which seats on your plane are the best to sit in and which ones you should avoid.
Scott's Cheap Flights The team at SCF constantly searches for the absolute best deals from your home airport. When they find one, they send it straight to your inbox.

Booking.com This has become my favorite hotel booking site for most of the world. It’s just easy to use and usually has the cheapest deals wherever I’m going.
