How to Reach?

By air

You can take a flight from your location and reach the nearest airport to Rishikesh. Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Rishikesh located approximately 25 kilometers away from the city. Regular flights are available to reach.

By Train

You can travel by train and the nearest railway station is Rishikesh, from Rishikesh you can hire a cab or public transport to reach Govindghat which is approximately 272 km away from Rishikesh.

By Road 

Buses to Haridwar are available from Delhi, the main bus stand in Delhi ISBT Kashmiri gate. After reaching the station you can take a bus or take a mode of public transport.

Short Itinerary of Valley of Flowers Trek

Day 1- Drive from Haridwar to Govindghat/Joshimath which is approximately 295 kilometers and takes around 9 hours to reach.

Day 2- Trek from Govindghat/Joshimath to Ghangharia which is approximately 13 kilometers and takes around 5-6 hours around 9,600 ft above sea level.

Day 3- Ghangharia to Valley of Flowers and back, which is approximately 4 kilometers one way and takes around 6 hours, around 11,500 ft above sea level.

Day 4- Ghangharia to Hemkund Sahib and back which is approximately 6 kilometers one way and takes around 9 hours, around 14,100 ft above sea level.

Day 5- Trek from Ghangharia to Govindghat/Joshimath which is around 13 kilometers and takes around 4-5 hours, at around 9,600 ft above sea level.

Day 6- Drive back to Haridwar with a lot of memories and peace of mind.

Things to Carry

  • Poncho/ Raincoat that is waterproof and dustproof.
  • Trekking poles are required throughout the trek and are mostly used during the monsoon season.
  • Waterproof-resistant boots are necessary to wear throughout during the monsoon season.
  • Good trekking pants that can absorb the water and do not stick to your body.
  • Electronic devices such as chargers, power banks, etc.
  • Carry a water bottle during the trek to keep you hydrated throughout.
  • Energy bars and energy drinks.
  • ID proof
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses as the temp rises at high altitudes.
