As a frequent traveler, I’ve learned a few things over the years to help I stay safe when I’m abroad.

Have Travel Insurance
The first thing that you should do before you go anywhere is make sure that you’ve got travel insurance. This makes sure that if you do get injured while you are traveling, you always have a way to access medical care. It’s not expensive to purchase travel insurance, but it does mean that you are protected in a way that you won’t be without it. Medical care in foreign countries can be extremely expensive, and if you’re not taking precautions, you could find yourself injured or sick, with no way to pay off the huge bill you get at the end of your treatment. Or worse, you might not get treated at all.
