Planning the ultimate camping trip with your friends will take a little work but it’ll be so worth it – camping is one of the travel experiences everybody should have. We all need to get back to nature from time to time, and this sort of trip can really help to put everything into perspective. If you want to get away from it all with your friends, here’s how to plan the ultimate camping trip.

Create A Meal Plan

You all need to eat, so create a meal plan together and then plan to split up the grocery list to keep things as fair as possible. Make sure you buy plenty of protein and ensure you have fats and carbs for a balanced meal that will keep you going whether you’re hiking a mountain or just relaxing. Sandwiches can make a great lunch, and cereal is quick and easy. Just be sure you know if there are any allergies or restrictions you should be aware of.

When you are planning the ultimate camping trip with your friends, it’ll save you a lot of hassle if you can cook and chop some of the ingredients ahead of time. Marinating foods ahead of time and cooking rice is an easy way to save time and hassle.

Split Up The Supply Packing List –
For Everything You Will Share

If you’re all sharing a campsite, you should discuss who can bring what and make sure everything is split up evenly. Using a checklist for this process is a good idea – if you can make a collaborative one online that everybody can access, it ensures you’re all on the same page.

Stopping near your campground for local firewood is important, as wood from other areas can spread pests and diseases. Do this out of respect for the site!

Know The Campground Rules

Some campgrounds will have unusual rules that you need to adhere to, so you’re going to want to make sure you check these things out ahead of time. For instance, you may only be able to have one car on the campsite, but paying an extra fee may be an option. Ensuring you are familiar with the rules beforehand will save you a lot of hassle and ensure you all have a great time. You might want to look at campers for sale to make your lives even easier if you think this is something you’ll want to do all the time.

Make The Most Of The Journey

Driving to the campsite is all part of the adventure, so make sure you have fun. When planning the ultimate camping trip with your friends carpooling is far more efficient and can be fun. You might want to have a physical map to ensure you don’t get lost, as depending on where you camp, you may not be able to get signal to access the maps on your phone. Make a playlist to accompany your trip, too!

Prepare For The Cold and Dark

It will get dark and it could get very cold at night time. Having flashlights and lanterns ensures you’re safe in the dark, and that you can continue socializing even once darkness falls. Make sure you have lots of clothing options and comfortable sleeping bags. You won’t be able to sleep if you get too cold. Taking really cosy blankets and hoodies, as well as socks, gloves, and other items will ensure you can stay out socializing even if the temperature does drop. You don’t want to get FOMO!

Check The Weather Beforehand

If the weekend is destined for rain, you will need to change what you pack to make sure you’re prepared. Having rain proof items just in case is a good idea, though. Don’t risk it, and make sure even your tents come with rain coverings. You’ll also want to reconsider any cooking plants that you made. On the other hand, if it’s going to be hot and sunny, take plenty of water and don’t forget your SPF! Sun stroke and burn will quickly ruin your trip and could even make you physically sick. You’ll be glad you went through the effort to check and plan for this if the weather takes an unexpected turn.
